• A Feast of Ideas

This week in our life school:

    🎨 Beauty & Story
    – Art Appreciation: Claude Monet’s Garden at Sainte-Adresse
    – Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing: lessons in love, deception, and truth

    – Simply Draw app

    – Stories of history: Gabriela Silang & Magellan

    🧁 Life Skills
    – Baked cookies that didn’t turn out good 🤭 (but still a win!)
    – Pancakes for breakfast

    – Chores while listening to Buckley’s “By Pond and River”

    – Indoor walk to prep for a fun run

And a sprinkle of math, handwriting, and reading lessons in between. 😉

Short lessons, as always reminded by Charlotte Mason, but a feast indeed!

  • Music, Handicraft, Week 2

1-4: This quarter’s handicraft focus is building mini dollhouses. It’s been a rich learning experience: sewing, cutting, measuring, and pasting, all while cultivating the habit of attention.

5-7:  We’re trying out Simply Piano for a month. 1st day today and the kids are finding it a bit difficult. We’re still considering Hoffman Academy. We’ll see how it goes.

We’re on our 2nd week of the school year! Grateful for this season of learning. 💛

  • Region 3 Mapwork

Today’s mapwork: a DIY puzzle of the map of Region 3 made from corrugated cardboard. The blank and labeled maps we use are from https://thestoryfelters.com.
